Unveiling Heritage: The History Behind Our Family Crest.

The Coat of arms through the years

There’s been confusion regarding the family coat of arms. As can be seen from top two emblems to the right. We’ve determined that the coat of arms of the “van Cuijk van Meteren” family is divided into four equal parts. Two quarters (I and IV) are silver with a red fleur-de-lis each, while the other two quarters (II and III) are gold with two horizontal red stripes, each adorned with eight merlets (blackbirds in English). As shown by the bottom-tree emblems.

The final emblem represents our present family crest utilized by the ‘van Meteren’ lineage in the Netherlands. Meticulously crafted by blending elements from past renditions, infusing it with vitality and realism, all while preserving the essential details of the original coat of arms.
